This week:
Alchemist quiz Part II-pg. 116 Vocabulary quiz Unit 8 Monday: "Everyday Writing" activity: you will be given an anticipation guide to complete and turn in. Then our introduction to Romeo and Juliet will begin by viewing The Making of Shakespeare In Love video and completing the guided notes handout. Homework: Read in The Alchemist, annotate, and answer the accompanying question handout provided in class (also available at the bottom of this post). Complete your vocabulary unit 8 packet and bring to class Tuesday. Be prepared to show your annotations in your novel at any time. Tuesday: Begin reading Romeo and Juliet Prologue, Act I, scene i in class. Begin answering the study guide.. *Study guide will be checked randomly for both correct answers and completion. Be prepared to show your annotations in your novel at any time. Wednesday: Field trip to The Shakespeare Tavern to view Romeo and Juliet today!!! Remember our discussion on etiquette for attending a play and dress nicely. Gentlemen, I would love to see you in khakis and a dress shirt with a bow tie or regular tie. Ladies, you should also dress up; for example, a dress with tights (it will be cold), leggings with a finger-tip length top, slacks with a nice shirt or blouse, etc. On Wednesday morning, we will announce when you are to leave your first period class to go to the bus portal for boarding. Make certain you line up at the bus number you were assigned. DO NOT bring your bookbag! Lunch is at the Varsity, so bring $10.00 which should cover just about anything you would want. Homework: Read Romeo and Juliet Act I, scenes iv and v. Thursday: "Everyday Writing" in your sketchbook reflecting over your experience attending the play.
