Self-Selected Reading List of Young Adult Novels This list contains 45 novels with a description of each one. They were compiled from a variety of prominent literary organizations such as YALSA, Kirkus Reviews, ALAN and others, then narrowed down by a group of students from my classes to the current list. Please Note: Some YA novels address realistic issues teenagers face today, and therefore may contain sensitive or explicit scenes. I have NOT read any of these books, so, students, you may choose any title from this list to read as your third parallel novel, but you must get permission from your parent or guardian stating they agree with your choice. You also must choose your book and turn in your signed permission form (download from this link if you lost it) by Friday, November 13. You will have a project-based assessment on your book rather than a traditional test. I will provide a variety of options for you to choose from. You may turn in your project early, by Friday, December 4, for a 5 point bonus added to your grade, or by the regular deadline on Monday, December 7. Comments are closed.
