Lord of the Flies quiz chapters 4-7 and Vocabulary quiz Unit 8 Monday: "Everyday Writing" activity: you will be given an anticipation guide to complete and turn in. Then our introduction to Romeo and Juliet will begin by viewing The Making of Shakespeare In Love video and completing the guided notes handout. Homework: Read in Lord of the Flies, annotate, and answer the study guide provided at the bottom of this post. Complete your vocabulary unit 8 packet and bring to class Tuesday. Be prepared to show your annotations in your novel at any time. Tuesday: Begin reading Romeo and Juliet in class and answering the study guide. *Study guide will be checked randomly for both correct answers and completion. Homework: Complete your R & J questions. Reading, Quiz, & Test Dates Feb. 3 – Chapters 1-3 Feb. 11 – Chapters 4-7 Feb. 24 – Chapters 8-12 Feb. 29 – TEST Monday: "Slam, Dunk, and Hook" Analyze and paraphrase in class. Complete for homework. Paraphrase poem, identify poetic devices (use your literary devices handout with definitions). Homework: Read "There Is No Word For Goodbye", paraphrase, and identify poetic devices. Tuesday: Identify poetic devices in both poems and discuss the meaning. Check your paraphrase of both poems. Homework: Read your novel in preparation for quiz. Wednesday: Quiz over novel. Discuss Lord of the Flies in class. Pick up handout over theme and symbols of the novel. Homework: Study poetry terms and notes to prepare for test Thursday.
